I have a problem. No one makes clothes that are big enough for me to fit in to. I sit on the furniture and it breaks. I spend more at the supermarket than is necessary. All of these signs point to the fact that I am fat and it is time to do something about it. The question is where do I start and what do I do?

Before I had figured out what I should do, I caught the program called the Biggest Loser which was about people who needed to lose weight. I went online and found out that the show had a website that included a link to the biggest loser forum where there were all sorts of helpful hints, tools and chat rooms that are dedicated to helping people lose weight. I felt better knowing that I was not alone in my desire to lose weight. When you don’t have to face the prospect of losing weight alone, it is a much less daunting task. I was no done with finding the information that I needed to lose weight.

I then decided that I had to set some specific goals. I couldn’t wait any longer to lose a lot of weight. I knew that I had to learn how to lose weight fastbecause my health was in danger and if I did not act quickly, I might not get another chance to succeed, and like the people on the show I had watched, I decided that I could lose more than ten pounds a week if I worked hard enough. I realized that this would take a lot of time and effort, and I was ready to do it.

I could not achieve the results by myself, I knew that I wouldn’t succeed by doing a handful of six pack ab exercises in the comfort of my own home whenever I could find the time to do it, and I wanted some professional help. I got myself motivated and worked my way out to a fitness club. The gym was the best place for me to work out with the assistance of experts all around me. Some friends suggested that I go and get a physical before I started a fitness program. He was able to guide me in the proper way to getting fit and healthy. My personal trainer gave me an exercise plan to follow. I was on my way to a better lifestyle.

All I thought about during this time was how great it would be to lose the weight, and I did all the work I could. There was no time for anything else. The diet and exercise started to work. My waistline was shrinking. I lost ten pounds a week for the first few weeks. For a short time, my weight loss stopped, and I was stick at the same weight for a couple of weeks. My physician let me know that this happens from time to time and it is nothing that I should be concerned about. The non weight loss did not make me change my diet or exercise plan. The diet and exercise eventually began to work again. My supporters were right, and I felt good about myself.

I have made a major impact on my life by making the decision to lose weight and have been very successful going from over four hundred pound to about two hundred and thirty pounds in under a year. All of the benefits are worth all of the hard work. My doctor told me that I am now healthier than I have been in over twenty years. I am well respected at my gym for what I have accomplished. I wake up in the morning with a smile on my face and a skip in my step because of how I feel. The best part of the journey has not been losing the weight although I wouldn’t want it back. The best part has been the great feeling I have about myself. That in the end is priceless.
